2012 RILA LPAS Conference Speaker Application
Due: August 1, 2011
The 2012 RILA Loss Prevention, Auditing & Safety Conference, April 22-25, 2012, at the Gaylord Texan
Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, TX is designed to educate retail and consumer product loss
prevention, auditing and safety professionals. We are looking for speakers who know the emerging issues
for this industry’s shrink reduction, investigation and interviewing techniques, workplace safety, organized
retail crime, operational issues, program implementation and other relevant loss prevention issues. We
strive to offer our event attendees an unparalleled value proposition, including relevant educational
offerings, strong coalition building competencies, focused research, proactive industry communications,
and measurable results. Please keep these goals in mind when developing your speaker proposal.
You may propose a lecture, panel discussion, or roundtable format for a session, or indicate the topic(s)
you are qualified to speak on. Please note that RILA strongly encourages service providers
submitting speaker proposals to include a retailer as a part of the speaking cadre. As this is a retail
conference, the committee in charge of conference educational content looks much more favorably upon
session speaker proposals that include a retailer. To be eligible to serve as a speaker, service
providers must be an exhibitor or sponsor at LPAS 2012.
You must complete this form in its entirety to be considered as a speaker. It will then be considered,
along with all other applications, by the Loss Prevention Steering Committee (representatives of RILA
retail member companies who plan the content and programming for the conference). If you are selected
by the conference planning committee, RILA staff will contact you with dates for upcoming deadlines and
further guidance/materials, including speaker schedules and RILA PowerPoint slide templates. Speaker
applicants may also be considered for other scheduled panel discussions or breakout sessions. For more
information about the speaker selection process, please contact Liz Benson, Manager of Loss Prevention
and Retail Operations, at 703-600-2030 or liz.benson@rila.org.
